Howard County MAB Responds to Two Vehicle Collision

Just before 7:30 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 firefighters and paramedics from Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS) were dispatched for a motor vehicle collision with injuries along the 7500 block of Washington Blvd in Jessup.

Units arrived to find two vehicles, a pickup truck and a 10 passenger van involved with at least 10 patients complaining of minor injuries. A mass casualty incident (MCI) was declared and the HCDFRS Medical Ambulance Bus (MAB) was dispatched.

After all patients were triaged by paramedics a total of 13 were transported, two to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, four to St. Agnes Hospital, two to Harbor Hospital, and five were taken to Howard County General Hospital in the MAB.
