Region 13 MAB Response to Murrysville High School Stabbings

Region 13 MAB Response to Murrysville High School Stabbings

The Region 13/ Armstrong county MAB-116 was initially dispatched with
the second wave of EMS units due to the rapidly increasing number of
patients, but upon arrival assumed a different role. Because all the
patients were critical a number were air transported, the others were
transported by ambulance to trauma centers. The MAB established a
minor injury treatment resource. Those involved with minor injuries
were treated onboard the MAB and released, negating the need for
additional transports. Once these patients were mitigated the MAB
again changed roles to provide a secure location out of sight of the
media to conduct a debriefing of EMS personnel involved in the event.
The MAB is currently still on scene providing a sick call resource for
the large presence of Law Enforcement.
